Animated Logos

1st Logo (1996-1998)

2nd Logo (August 21, 2004) (40th Anniversary variant)


Visuals: On a blue background, there is a wormhole that zooms forward. After that, the 1998 TV Tokyo logo appears with the stacked text "40th Anniversary" atop of it. The wormhole later disappears while the logo shines for a bit before fading to black.

Technique: A mix of CGI and digital animation.

Audio: A warp-speed space-age theme, ending with a bang-like sound.

Availability: Only seen in Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow.

3rd Logo (August 2, 2008-November 2023?)


Visuals: On a black background, there is the 1998 TV Tokyo symbol in silver on a blue aura as it spins for a bit before zooming out, revealing the completed symbol. After that, the symbol zooms out and the background changes to white, while the words "TV" and TOKYO" turn red and blue respectively.

Variant: On international prints of TV Tokyo's television shows, such as Bleach, the logo is shortened.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An electronic-synth theme.

Availability: First seen on Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Bonds and was also seen on international prints of TV Tokyo programs such as Bleach (and its sequel The Thousand-Year Blood War).

4th Logo (September 19-December 20, 2014) (50th Anniversary variant)


Visuals: On a white background, there is Nanana holding a party popper. Nanana then opens the party popper while the 1998 TV Tokyo logo with the "50th anniversary" symbol on the left starts to appear. After Nanana opens the party popper up, gold confetti can be seen while the TV Tokyo logo and its 50th anniversary logo change to their respective colors before the latter is spread with confetti.

Variant: On Yowamushi Pedal: Re: Road, the 50th anniversary symbol is absent, and the TV Tokyo logo is a bit larger.

Technique: A mix of CGI and digital traditional animation.

Audio: Sound effects for the party popper alongside the audience clapping.

Availability: Seen on TV Tokyo's films from that period, such as Yo-Kai Watch!: The Movie.

5th Logo (November 13, 2023-)


Visuals: On a white background, A red "T" appears flying up to put together in its point and suddenly appears with an Iris-Out to reveal the 2023 TV Tokyo logo with the words "TV" and "OKYO" in blue and "T" in the middle is Red and blue

Technique: A mix of CGI and digital traditional animation.

Audio: A Xylophone note

In-Credit Logos

Tokyo Channel 12

Logo (April 1, 1976-September 30, 1981)

Visuals: Superimposed on the show's opening and/or ending sequence is the 1968 Tokyo Channel 12 wordmark, which consists of the words "東京12チャンネル" in a cubic-style script, usually in white.

Technique: A superimposed hand-painted graphic

Audio: The opening or ending theme of the show.

Availability: First seen on Tokyo Channel 12 productions from 1976 to 1981, beginning with Ghost Story Cat Eyed Boy among others.

TV Tokyo

1st Logo (October 1, 1981-September 30, 1998)

Visuals: Superimposed on the show's opening and/or ending background, is the 1981 TV Tokyo wordmark, which consists of the words "テレビ東京" in a cubic script.

Variant: From 1993 to 1998, the "Chu!" wordmark, which consisted of a red ring next to it and the "チュッ!" text below it, was used. This was mainly used in advertising and was also used as a production logo on their shows such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and early episodes of Pokémon. The "Chu!" symbol was removed during April of 1998, to prepare for the station's major rebrand months later.

Audio: The opening or ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on TV Tokyo's productions such as early episodes of Pokémon and Fushigi Yuugi.

2nd Logo (October 1, 1998-November 13, 2023)

Visuals: Superimposed on the show's opening and/or ending background, is the 1998 TV Tokyo logo being white or retaining the original colors.

Variants:

  • During 2003-04, a "40th Anniversary" sign was inserted to the left of the logo.
    • On season 1 of Bleach, the logo is replaced with the "テレビ東京" wordmark.
  • In 2008, a "7ch" channel indicator sign, consisting of the white number inside a bicolor or cut from a white circle, was added to the right of the logo.
  • Since 2013, the station's mascot Nanana the Banana is seen in place of the "7" channel indicator next to the logo, instead bending left to form said number.
  • During 2018-2019, the station's 55th anniversary logo was used.

Audio: The opening or ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on TV Tokyo's latest productions from that time, such as later episodes of Pokémon, Bleach, and Naruto.

3rd Logo (November 13, 2023-)

Visuals: Superimposed on the show's opening and/or ending sequence is the 2023 TV Tokyo logo, consisting of the words "テレ東", with the bottom stroke of the word "テ" representing channel 7, the channel that the station currently broadcasts on, in a futuristic-style script being in white or retaining its usual colors.

Technique: Superimposed animation.

Audio: The opening or ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on TV Tokyo's productions from 2023 onwards, such as later episodes of Pokémon.
