Background

The Hoosac Institute is an artistic platform founded in 1970 in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The institute was inactive for almost 50 years before being revived in 2018 by Jenny Perlin. The term "Hoosac" is translated from Algonquian to mean either "the beyond place" or "the stony place".
