Backgorund
X Filme Creative Pool is a German film production company founded in July 1994 by Tom Tykwer, Dani Levy, and Wolfgang Becker.
1st Logo (April 4, 1996-October 26, 2006)
Visuals: The sequence opens with an up-close shot of an orange and marginally slanted, printed X in Courier on a black background. The lower legs of the letter are swiped on screen, then quickly blurred with the word "FILME" and placed side by side. "CREATIVE POOL", in white, is then typed in below "ILME".
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: Quick swiping noises are made when the lower legs of the "X" appear on the screen. Then, there is a little whoosh noise when both the "X" and "FILME" are put together, followed by typewriter sounds, a metallic clang, and a slow ascending and descending harp arpeggio in a staccato.
Availability: It is found in films made by this company from this period, most notably the 1998 film Run Lola Run (Lola rennt) and A Friend of Mine, its last appearance.
