Background

ASK Productions was ran by Indian film director and producer Abdul Sattar Khan.

1st Logo (January 20, 1983)

Visuals: On a moving vortex-like background with many colors and smoke, a silhouette of a crescent with a star slowly fades in. It then slowly illuminates itself to reveal a picture of a mosque with the Kaaba in the middle, all encrusted in gold with ten dark striped lines on it. Below it is the text "ASK" and a crescent which says "PRODUCTIONS" with stars between. It stays still for over a few seconds until we finally fade to black.

Technique: Practical effects.

Audio: Somber-sounding traditional Indian music with a piano, a sitar and a tanpura, followed by a very deep announcer speaking in Hindi.

Availability: Seen only on Ek Bar Chale Aao.

2nd Logo (January 5, 1989-March 22, 1991)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the word "ask" on top of a yellow pedestal with a filmstrip sitting on the right side of the letter "a". On the pedestal consists of the word "PRODUCTIONS" in black and 3 black stars can be seen on the right side of the pedestal. Below the pedestal is the word "PRESENTS" in yellow.

Variant: On In India Today, the entire logo is yellow and zooms towards the camera with a blur effect against a red background. "Presents" is now in a cursive font.

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: The first notes of the Jyoti Bane Jwala theme.

Audio Variant: In India Today uses rapidly descending string theme ending with a two-note orchestral sting.

Availability: Seen only on Tujhe Nahin Chhodunga and In India Today.
