Background

DMV Distribuzione was an Italian film distributor in the 1980’s.

1st Logo (October 26, 1984-1987)

Visuals: On a blue background, a white rectangle with the text “DMV” in ITC Lubalin Graph zooms out, then the text “DISTRIBUZIONE” in a sans serif font fade in below.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A triumphant fanfare.

Availability: Seen on films released by the company during the period. [Examples?]

2nd Logo (October 8, 1987-199?)

Visuals: On a black background is a sheet with blue on one side and silver on the other. The blue side eventually covers the screen and turns into a field of stars, some of the stars shine as 4 of them form a golden rectangles, then three comets form the letters “D”, “M” and “V” from before on their side, the letters then turn to reveal themselves and shine as the text “Distribuzione” in a cursive font writes itself in.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A majestic synth fanfare accompanied by shining sound effects and a piano riff as the cursive text writes itself in.

Availabilty: Seen on films released by the company during the period, like "Gli occhiali d'oro".
