Background

Delux Films was a Hindi-language film production and distribution company founded by Indian film director Mohan Segal.



1st Logo (November 18, 1962)

Visuals: On a grey background, there is the giant 3D text "DELUX" along with "FILMS" below. A horizontal line can be seen below the word "FILMS" separating the company's name and the word "PRESENTS" at the bottom.

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: A fast-paced brass fanfare.

Availability: Seen on Dr. Vidya.

2nd Logo (July 7, 1964)

Visuals: Over a grey background is what appears to be a stylized pedestal containing 3 rows of words, "DELUX", "FILMS" and "PRESENTS". The words appear to be stacked on top of each other inside the pedestal and are arranged from biggest to smallest.

Technique: A painting filmed by a camera.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on Majboor.

3rd Logo (March 4, 1966)

Visuals: On a grey background, there is a sketch of some kind of an idol in the center, with a ribbon containing the company's name "DELUX FILMS" swerving around the idol.

Technique: A painting filmed by a camera.

Audio: An ascending vibraphone tune with a xylophone melody at the end.

Availability: Seen on Devar.

4th Logo (January 3, 1969-July 20, 1976)

Visuals: On a blue-lavender-white seashell-like background, there is a statue of the same idol from the previous logo on top of a white pedestal containing the company's name in gold.

Technique: A live-action photograph shot by a camera.

Audio: A somber xylophone tune with two swarmandal glissandos.

Availability: Seen on Sajan, Sawan Bhadon, Sansar, Intezar, and Suntan.

5th Logo (May 11, 1979)

Visuals: There is colorful circles and spinning stars along with the same idol in the center against a black background. "DELUX FILMS" fades in on the sides of the idol, with "presents" below.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: Same as the previous logo, but with a gentle string piece when the text fades in.

Availability: Seen on Kartavya.
