Background

Eastern Production Ltd. was a film company established by Hong Kong actor Jet Li. When Jet Li moved to Hollywood in 1997, he withdrew from the company, with the production and administrative issues continued to be handled by his partner Chui Po Chu.

Logo (March 4, 1993-March 14, 1996)

Visuals: On an egyptian blue background, a sun colored in thunderbird rises in. Once the sun is completely shown, the characters "正東" starts writing stroke-by-stroke. After the characters are done writing, the translation and the company name swipes in from the left.

Variant: On Dr Wai in The Scripture with No Words, "攝製" appears beside the logo once the logo is formed.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A triumphant fanfare.

Availability: Seen on their films, with the first release being Fong Sai Yuk.

Visuals: The camera zooms out from several black forming shapes with a light behind. As the camera zooms out, it is revealed that the forming shapes are the Chinese text "正東" (with the "" being in a calligraphic font). The light then flashes, as "正東" turns metallic and the company name, "THE EASTERN (HK) FILM PRODUCTION CO., LTD." appears below as the light dies down.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None.

Availability: It's only appearance was on the Columbia Pictures co-produced film, So Close.
