* ''Despicable Me'' and ''Despicable Me 2'' ([[ABC National IDs|ABC]] airing): Stuart the minion peeks out from the right side of the screen, anxiously greeting the audience. Then, all of a sudden, the text appears behind him. Stuart is clearly frightened by the loud music that plays as it appears, and as the music ends, he stands stunned, and then falls over. He then crawls off the screen.
*On the former film's Blu-Ray, if you select the "Gru Control" option, the preceding Universal logo and the ''Despicable Me'' variant are seen on a screen that Gru turns on, with a bunch of Minions underneath cheering. Throughout the logo, the scene cuts to the antagonist Vector on a couch switching the logo to "Vector Channel" which annoys Gru and the group of Minions. As the Illumination Entertainment logo is shown, at the point where the text shines and startles the Minion, Gru and Vector repeatedly switch in between the Illumination logo and the Vector Channel, and Vector's head is then frozen by the Freeze Ray from the film off-screen. The Minions cheer one last time as the camera pans into the screen, and the titles appear.
*
* ''Hop'': Stuart stands in the centre, staring at the camera. He then looks depressingly at Dave, wearing bunny ears and a cotton bunny tail and prancing to the right while carrying an Easter basket and tossing candy. Dave stops in front of Stuart and shows off his costume, but Stuart is not amused. Dave tosses some candy at Stuart's goggle, chuckles nervously and takes off the ears, and Stuart looks back at the camera.

* ''Minions & More 1'': For the new Illumination mini-movie collection on Netflix, they decided to create a bunch of custom variants that play before each short:
** '''Puppy''': One of the Minions is seen flying towards the left on a dark blue background, using carboard wings. We then see a large bright white light (possibly the "N" in "ILLUMINATION") on the left as the Minion stops for a second and looks at the light before deciding to go towards it, causing him to get electrocuted. He then falls to the ground and the camera quickly zooms out, revealing the Illumination text and revealing dozens of other Minions with carboard wings fallen down on the ground as they all say "Illumination..." at the same time in a disgruntled manner.▼
** '''The Dog Days of Winter''': Kevin, Stuart and Bob can be seen in front of a small gingerbread house with the Illumination text being seen on top of it while they stand in front of a blizzard. The camera slightly shakes as the area around them rumbles, slightly startling Bob. It happens again, only stronger, which causes Bob to almost be swept away by the snow as Kevin pulls him back. They stand there for a bit as the area shakes once more, this time causing all of them to float and spin around the house. The camera then zooms back to reveal that the area and the Minions are actually part of a snowglobe held by the young Grinch from the movie sitting on a couch as he happily looks at and shakes the snowglobe once more.▼

** '''Minion Scouts''': On a starry background, we see some orange parts at the bottom. We then see a wooden hanging thing with the Kevin, Stuart and Bob sitting on it land down, almost on the orange pieces. The first minion grabs a stick with many marshmallows on it. The last does the same thing. Bob tries to grab something heavy, which is later revealed to be a stick with thousands of marshmallows on it. They roast them on the orange parts. We zoom out to reveal the orange parts are the Illumination text (but it's orange-black-white gradiant).
** '''Norman TV''': This is the first ever variant without the Minions. We see a giant white glowing wall with a green feather stuck at the bottom. Chloe (from The Secret Life of Pets) comes in and notices the feather. Chloe puts up her paw and touches the flower. We then see Chloe punching the flower many times, trying to grab it. Chloe then bites to the feather and tries to pull it out. Chloe then tries to move the wall by punching it with her butt. She tries to pull the wall instead. However, she accidently knocks down the wall, letting the feather out in the process. We zoom out to see another wall with a purple feather. She looks at the wall, confused. She looks at the feather and walks to it, but knocks out the feather with her foot so she can try to pull the second feather. We zoom out to reveal the walls are actually the Illumination logo, but the second "i" is knocked down (it's actually the wall that Chloe knocked down) and it's top piece is shattered into pieces.

* '''Scout Minions''': On a dark, starry night background, we see Kevin, Stuart and Bob again, this time descending in a wooden platform held by two strings as the Illumination logo can be seen at the bottom of the screen, albeit in a fiery texture. Kevin and Stuart pull out two sticks with Marshmellows to fry in the fire below. Bob pulls out a giant stick with a huge jumble of Marshmallows curled up in a ball as the Minions look in surprise. Kevin then startes happily while Stuart looks with a straight face. The camera zooms out and reveals the Illumination text, which has a firey top and a more iron-y center and bottom as Bob says "Illuminatioon!" in a somewhat excited manner.

'''Variants:'''
▲* On the first two trailers for ''Hop'', there's a short version of the ''Despicable Me'' variant in which it just shows Stuart peeking in, but the text is already there.
* Some trailers lack the minions, such as the ''Minions'' and ''Sing'' trailers. Also seen on video games based on Illumination films. This version is also still.
* Starting with ''Sing'', the name is three-dimensional.

'''Music/Sounds Variants:'''
*There used to be a version of the ''Despicable Me'' variant on the company's website that removes the footstep sound effects from the Minion, the fanfare sounds a little different and is louder and a little more bombastic, and the sounds when the Minion falls and crawls off-screen are different. Stuart's sounds are still the same, though.
*On ''Despicable Me 3'' and ''Minions: The Rise of Gru'', the opening theme plays over the logo, while

Illumination (also known as Illumination Entertainment) is an American film and animation studio founded by Chris Meledandri in 2007 and co-owned by Universal Pictures, a division of its wholly owned subsidiary NBCUniversal.
The company was formed after Meledandri left as president of 20th Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios in early 2007. While at those companies, he supervised or executive-produced movies including the first two Ice Age films, Robots, and Horton Hears a Who!. After he left, a deal was announced positioning Illumination as Universal's family entertainment arm that would produce one to two films a year starting in 2010. During the summer the following year, Illumination acquired the animation department of the French animation and visual effects studio Mac Guff, and formed Illumination Mac Guff (now Illumination Studios Paris).
The studio is responsible for the Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets and Sing franchises, and the movies Hop, The Lorax, and The Grinch. The Minions from the first title are the studio's mascots.

Logo: On a dark background with a reflective floor, a large stacked text reading "ILLUMINATION ENTERTAINMENT" appears (written in Futura Condensed). Minions appear below the text (usually Bob or Stuart) and get up to different things, which vary by film:
Variants:
FX/SFX: The minions and the text, which varies by film. Animated by Illumination themselves.
Music/Sounds: Just the minions (voiced by Pierre Coffin) making noises or saying/singing the company name. On the Despicable Me variant, a loud, bombastic three-note fanfare is heard as the logo appears, kinda sounding like the Viacom "Wigga-Wigga" logo. None or the opening theme of the trailer for the still versions. On How to Draw a Minion, it's the same as The Secret Life of Kyle and Minion Scouts, however, only Bob's voice is present.
Music/Sounds Variants:
Availability: Current and common.
Editor's Note: This logo has gained notoriety for its constant use of Illumination's mascots, the Minions, and opinions will vary wildly based on whether you find the Minions charming or annoying. The Sing 2 variant is generally considered the best even by those who dislike the other logos, however, and some think it should become the main logo on future films. Some have also proposed that the Minions could be absent, and have some other Illumination characters (doing what the Minions did in the prior films) substituting them for a few releases.
