Background

Instituto Nacional de Cinematografía (INC) was an Argentine film distribution company founded on 1947 with the financial support from the film law of 1947[1]. The industry grew during the 1950s, but the government halted funding as a result of political changes on 1955[2]. It was then re-established on 1958 in Buenos Aires as a result of the Argentine Revolution. The company has evolved and is now known as Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (INCAA).

Logo (August 24, 1978)

Visuals: There is a sideways shot of a silhouetted man with a film projector pointing downwards on a white-blue gradient background. After a few seconds, a spotlight illuminates the man along with the projector, followed by the man directing the film projector to face towards the viewer while the camera zooms towards it. After it stops, with the lens pointing directly at the screen, an arched "INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE CINEMATOGRAFIA" in white and serif wipes in left-to-right in front of the top-part of the lens along with footage of a model of the Earth slowly rotating wiping inside the lens via iris effect. Within the footage of the Earth model, and after the North and South American continents are shown, the camera zooms in towards the brightened location of Argentina, stopping as "ARGENTINA" and then "BUENOS AIRES" both in white and serif appear in front of it individually and zoom outwards. The sequence culminates with a cursive "presenta" in white wiping on the bottom-left hand side of the lens.

Technique: Live-action combined with model work and cel animation.

Audio: After a man says "Luz, cámara, acción!", which signals the spotlights to turn on after a prolonged silence, a rising, slow-paced orchestral piece plays throughout the logo.

Availability: Seen in Yo también tengo fiaca.
