Background

Itaki Design Studio is an American motion graphics company founded by Michael McReynolds in 1996.

Logo (April 10, 2015)

Visuals: On a black background with a damaged VHS filter, three semi-transparent diamonds are seen, coloured red, green, and blue respectively, "interlocked" within each other and spinning around like a top. Later, the upper half features a bursting red light pattern, which dims to the center and becomes the white text "ITAKI DESIGN STUDIO" with a red glow. Once the text is unveiled, it gains a horizontal blue glow and a dissolving trail directed downward, spreading out until a few copies of the text are readable. In the end, the tape scrolls up and becomes heavily damaged where it cuts to black.

Variant: There is a shortened variant.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: While static buzzing plays in the background, TV tuning plays, which includes excerpts of retro instrumental tracks with a soothing tone. After dialogue with a rewind effect is heard, an ascending Moog synthesized glide plays ending with a high-pitched chord that gets cut-off by static.

Audio Variant: On The Reconstruction of William Zero, the logo is silent.

Availability: The logo is seen on The Reconstruction of William Zero.
