1st Logo (December 12, 1968)

Visuals: On a dark background, with a light in the screen, after the camera pans down is the statue of a man sitting in a meditative position, with a pendant of flowers, and with a chisel and a parchment in its hands.

Trivia: The statue is of Thiruvalluvar, a famous Tamil poet and philosopher from the 3rd Century B.C.

Technique: A simple camera pan.

Audio: Some strums of a swarmandal and a hit of a bell while a male voice sings in Tamil, "A is the 1st letter for all letters! Like that God is the 1st man for the whole world!".

Availability: Seen only on Ethir Neechal.

2nd Logo (October 2, 1969-June 27, 1970)

Visuals: Same as the previous logo, but the background is the sky with some clouds. In addition, the statue of Thiruvalluvar from the previous logo appears in a different position, looking towards the right.

Technique: See previous logo.

Audio: See previous logo.

Availability: Seen on Iru Kodugal and Ethiroli.

3rd Logo (March 19, 1971)

Visuals: There is a cloudy background, and the camera pans down to the statue. The statue has paint all over its body.

Technique: Same as the previous logos.

Audio: A 12-note melody with a swarmandal, followed by strings playing with a glissando of the swarmandal, while a different man sings the same mantra from the 1st logo. Finally, another glissando of the swarmandal are heard, with along with the strings.

Availability: Seen only on Nootrukku Nooru ("Hundred Out of Hundred").

4th Logo (August 11, 1972-February 9, 1973)

Visuals: Against a smoking background, the camera pans to the same statue again but only this time, it's seemingly made out of a metal.

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: Same as the first two logos.

Availability: Seen on Velli Vizha and Aranketram


5th Logo (August 15, 1975-March 24, 1978)

Visuals: Over a slightly less smoky background, the logo starts with the statue once again.

Variants: On Manmatha Leela, the logo is in colour.

Technique: Same as previous logos.

Audio: Same as previous logos.

Availability: Seen on Apoorva Raagangal, Manmatha Leelai, Avargal and Nizhal Nijamagiradhu.

6th Logo (November 2, 1979-1998)

Visuals: On a green curtain backdrop with a yellow spotlight in the middle, there is a silhouette of the same statue once again facing towards the right direction against faint rising smoke. The statue rotates 90 degrees, as light from above reveals the entire statue, revealing that the statue has an orange shading and is on top of a pedestal.

Technique: Same as previous logos.

Audio: Same as previous logos.

Availability: Seen on Thillu Mullu and Thanneer Thanneer.
