Background

Lantis Co., Ltd. was a Japanese company that served as a music publisher label for Japanese musicians, anime soundtracks and video game soundtracks. It was established on November 26, 1999, and became a subsidiary of Bandai Visual in May 2006, itself a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings. In February 2018, it was announced Lantis would be merged with Bandai Visual into a new company called Bandai Namco Arts. The reorganizing took effect on April 1, 2018. Lantis was succeeded as the name of the label for music-related products, along with its symbolic logo.

Logo (2006?-2018)


Visuals: On a red background, a white light emerges from the center, bringing up a red sphere. The light engulfs the entirety of the background, turning it to white. Meanwhile, the sphere zooms away revealing "Lantis", with a red dot on the tip of the "i". The sphere turns into a flat opal shape as a white "L" of the same format as "Lantis", draws in. Shortly after, the finishing elements zoom and fade away individually, emerging light gray arcs.

Variant: The logo is still on early DVD releases.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A pulsating 3-note chime emerging into a held synth pad note.

Availability: Appeared on some DVDs and Blu-rays, debuting on the volume 1 of Gift: Eternal Rainbow. It also appeared in the movie The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.
