Background

Minerva Pictures is a Rome-based film production company founded in 1953.


Standard Logos

1st Logo (May 26, 2000)

Visuals: On a black background, an aquamarine bordered white filled diamond contains a blue-aquamarine horizontal gradient geometric "m" on top of an aquamarine "v". "Una" and "Distribuzione" are besides the logo and "Minerva Pictures" is below it. "GRUPPO MINERVA INTERNATIONAL", in a stacked format, is on the bottom of the screen.

Audio: None.

Availability: The logo is seen on Scarlet Diva.

2nd Logo (July 25, 2007-April 20, 2011)

Visuals: On a black background, the "M" from before and in blue rotates on its z-axis while gradually gaining normal brightness. Before stopping, the diamond border, also in blue, appears and spins alongside the letter. When they stop, "MINERVA PICTURES", in white and Times New Roman, fades in below the "M".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A set of digital sound effects segueing into a rising whoosh.

Availability: The logo is seen on Lillo & Greg The Movie and Ubaldo Terzani Horror Show.

3rd Logo (October 2, 2014)

Visuals: On a black background, a light scrolls left to right to unveil and reflect "Minerva Pictures", which are inverted against a white filled dodger blue bordered box and a dodger blue box respectively.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A soft orchestral stinger.

Availability: The logo is seen on The Naples Heist.

4th Logo (September 3, 2015-October 29, 2020)

Visuals: On a white background, an etching of Minerva holding a miniature Nike model and a spear with her left and right-hand fades in. Then, the image dims for the fade-in of the dodger blue and red text "Minerva Pictures" and "Gruppo Editoriale Minerva Rarovideo" in Courier, placed in the centre and bottom centre respectively. Later, the objects, excluding the background, fade out.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: A descending classical piano melody, which is later accompanied with a soft, echoing choral track.

Availability: The logo is seen on For Your Love, Made in Italy: Ciao Brother, Falchi, and lastly Il ladro di cardellini. It also appears on reprints of older films such as Il giardino dei Finzi-Contini.

5th Logo (September 24, 2015)

Visuals: On a white background, a print version of the 3rd logo's appearance is shown, which consists of "Minerva Pictures" being inverted against a white filled blue bordered box and a blue box respectively.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: A descending classical piano melody, which is later accompanied with a soft, echoing choral track.

Availability: The logo is seen on Getaway of Love.

6th Logo (November 24, 2020-)

Visuals: On a white background, various spinning halftone shots of a statue of Minerva holding a spear and shield are shown. The last has the sculpture zooming out as "MINERVA" and "PICTURES", both in serif fonts, deblurring one by one and panning alongside Minerva. By the time they slow down, the text becomes dark blue. After they stop, "GRUPPO EDITORIAL MINERVA RARIOVIDEO", in a tall font, fades in below.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A low note set of reverbed synth ambiance notes. Later, soft keyboard notes are performed.

Availability: The logo is seen on Il ladro di cardellini, Glassboy, and Mondcane, among other films.

Logo (November 9, 2012)

Visuals: "Minerva Pictures" is inverted against a white filled blue bordered box and a blue box respectively.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: The logo is seen on Interdizione Perpetua.
