Background

Night is Y is a Canadian film production company founded by Devery Jacobs.[1]

Logo (May 31, 2024)

Visuals: On a black background, the right depth of a "Y", filled in a violet-blue violet vertical gradient texture and with sharp edges to the left, slides into the latter direction. The letter's white fill forms from the left, quickly merging with the depth while the object glitches and the letter changes formats. After the glitching, a blue filled "Y" with a dark blue and teal gradient below, appears sliding from right to left. In contrast, a black copy obscures the white one, leaving the upper right to be bordered, and the violet version to wipe out. The logo glitches again to display the letter's RGB-blurred white version. Two copies of the version pop in marginally to the lower left from an orange red-blue violet-orange red diagonal gradient and blue fill with a violet fill on the lower left respectively. After another glitch effect, "NIGHT IS" emerges below the logo, whereas the "Y" next to it fades in, changing colors from blue violet to white. The RGB blur is intact on the text before it and the "Y" symbol's effects are nearly stabilized.

Technique: Flash animation.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.

Availability: The logo is seen on Backspot.
