Background
Pantelion Films was a joint venture between Lionsgate and TelevisaUnivision, created in 2010 to distribute films aimed for Latino-American audiences. In 2017, Televisa and Lionsgate founded another joint venture, named Globalgate Entertainment, along with other companies such as Gaumont. In 2023, Lionsgate announced that they would be folding Pantelion Films. Following this, the Pantelion office was closed and the website was taken down, effectively rendering the company defunct.
Logo (December 2, 2011-2021?)
Visuals: The camera moves backwards close to the back side of a carrot-colored rectangle. Cut-out letters begin to fall out of the shape. Then the rectangle pans around and we see it on a white surface revealing the text "PANTELION", with light beaming through the cuts. The byline "TELEVISA + LIONSGATE" in white then appears below in the rectangle.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A synth theme with falling letters' sounds, ending with a short Latino tune when the text appears. This was composed by Chris Walden.
Availability: Seen on many films released under this label from 2020 to 2021. This includes Pastorela, From Prada to Nada, Un Gallo Con Muchos Huevos, Condorito: The Movie, Go For It!, Casa de Mi Padre, and Girl in Progress, among others, though the DVD releases doesn't feature the logo. A still version is seen on the trailers for most of their films. It has also been seen on Everybody Loves Somebody.
