Background

Quartet Films Incorporated was an American film distributing company.

1st Logo (December 14, 1979?-March 25, 1983?)

Visuals: On a black background, six copies of the outlined "QFi" fade, ranging from medium to small size and from the bottom to the upper-right sections. The fourth of all six copies glows white, with the remaining others fading out. The glow decreases, revealing that the chosen copy is filled with it's respective colors. The text "Released by" wipes in from the upper-right section above said copy, then followed by "Quartet\Films Incorporated", wiping from the lower section.

Technique: Backlit cel animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Intact on VHS releases of La jument vapeur, Together, Harry Tracy, Desperado and Les turlupins, all distributed by the same company.

2nd Logo (January 1980)

Visuals: On a black background, the text "RELEASED BY" is plastered off-centered from the screen. A diagonal light yellow filmstrip fragment wipes in from the right, followed by a salmon filmstrip wiping in from the left. Then, "Quartet Films, Inc." wipes from the left. Starting from the second word wiping in, light green and light blue filmstrip fragments start to wipe in from the top to the bottom. This results in forming a multicolored "4" out of filmstrips.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Shown on Why Shoot the Teacher?.
