Background

Rayart Pictures was an early American film production and distribution company founded by W. Ray Johnston.[1] It was an early Poverty Row studio which was a forerunner of Monogram Pictures.[1]

Logo (1925)

Visuals: A painting of a hill with a river running is seen against a black background. The background then irises in to a sunburst as the sun slowly rises. "RAYARTPICTURES" fades in on top of the screen alongside "W. Ray Johnson" below, with "Presents" underneath.

Technique: Traditional animation with iris effects.

Audio: None.

Availability: This logo is seen on an American release of Bestia (retitled The Polish Dancer).
