Background

Swedish Film Institute is a Swedish film archive and institute founded in 1963 by Harry Schein. Within its first several decades of existence, they produced films, beginning in the late 1960's until 1993. In 2016, the institute resumed the distribution of its archives.[1]

Logo (Unknown Year)

Visuals: The first element to appear is the background, which is a movie still containing an upper-class woman holding a small flower, smirking at a man in a suit. Both are in a decorated room and beside a floral-decorated curtain next to the window. Several seconds later, the following text, in white and with a bottom-right facing shadow, fades in:

Denna film är
restaurerad av
FILMARKIVET
SVENSKA FILMINSTITUTE

Later, as the background fades to black, two geometric symbols appear on the bottom centre, sliding towards each other: an "i"-shaped figure and a box with two circles on top on the left and right respectively. Then, the symbols are encased within a thinly bordered box.

Trivia: The movie still is taken from the 1920 film, Erotikon.[2]

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the film.

Availability: The logo is seen on restored prints of Familjen Björck, Första divisionen, and Tösen från Stormyrtorpet.
