'''Visuals:''' The logo begins on a ruffled white background that resembles crumpled paper. Surrounding the borders of the logo are colored pencil scribbles consisting of the colors grey, green, blue, yellow, and orange. Also in the background is the orange word "Kids" which is scrambled around the screen. A folded paper cube rolls in from the right-center of the screen and stops in the center. The cube unfolds to reveal the WGBH logo which is solid and colored blue. The screen zooms out as the "Kids" text bounces towards the bottom right of the WGBH logo and settles. The cube continues to unfold turning the background into a white paper background. A yellow "firework" in the shape of an asterisk explodes on the top right of the logo. Another purple asterisk firework explodes in the bottom right. The "Kids" text wiggles around throughout the logo. After the fireworks explode, the logo stops zooming out and freezes before fading to black.

1st Logo (September 11, 2009-November 18, 2014)

Visuals: Same as the 2008 WGBH logo, except it is tinted blue like the local variant, and when the WGBH logo is formed, semi-animated PBS Kids characters such as Curious George, Arthur and Buster, Leona (from Between the Lions), Ruff Ruffman (from Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman), Martha the dog (from Martha Speaks), and a sign with Design Squad logo popping up and hanging as "kids" appears under the glowing WGBH logo.

Trivia: Curious George's animation in the standard variant was taken from the intro of the titular show, while his animation in the Peep and the Big Wide World variant is taken from the show's end credits, albeit modified. Also, many of the characters you see in the logo are from shows that were still in production when this logo was in use.

Variants:

  • A full-screen variant of the normal logo exists, and can be seen on later season 12 to 15 episodes of Arthur and season 3 of Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman.
  • A variant exists where Peep, Chirp, and Quack from Peep and the Big Wide World, appear from the left next to Martha, and briefly move. It's seen on international prints and TVO airings of Martha Speaks.
    • Peep and the Big Wide World and Season 3 episodes of Postcards from Buster use the above variant, except it uses the full-screen variant, Curious George is seen hanging instead of standing, the logo is rendered in 30fps and also in motion-blur.
    • On an unknown 2008 episode of Postcards from Buster, the Peep variant stays the same, but a man from Design Squad appears and smiles. His shirt is purple with the “DESIGN SQUAD” text in white. As a result, the Design Squad sign is not shown in the logo.
  • On Between the Lions, the logo ends before Ruff Ruffman looks at the viewer.

Technique: A mix of CGI, Flash animation, and digital ink-and-paint by Toon City Animation Inc.

Audio: The short version of the WGBH music followed by the sound of children laughing, or the ending theme of the show.

Availability:

  • Seen on PBS Kids programs produced by WGBH from late 2009 to 2014, such as later seasons 13 to 17 of Arthur (seasons 18 to 20 use the 2008 WGBH Productions logo instead), seasons 9 to 10 of Between the Lions, post-season 1 episodes of Martha Speaks, and seasons 4-5 of Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman.
  • The Peep variants appear on seasons 4-5 of Peep and the Big Wide World and season 3 of Postcards from Buster in 30fps, and Martha Speaks in 24fps, although later airings replace it with the regular variant. It strangely does not appear on Curious George, which used an in-credit notice of the WGBH logo.
  • It last appeared on the final episode of Martha Speaks. After that, WGBH Kids would be in-name only until a new logo debuted three years later.
  • In turn, this logo plastered the older logos on APT-syndicated prints of Peep and the Big Wide World.

2nd Logo (May 29, 2017-February 21, 2022)

Visuals: The logo begins on a ruffled white background that resembles crumpled paper.

Variant: On Molly of Denali, the logo is in warp speed.

Technique: A mix of CGI and traditional animation.

Audio: The tail end of the WGBH music accompanied by a playful piano-like techno rendition of the music with a beat in the background, or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: First seen on the Arthur special D.W. and the Beastly Birthday and was used on WGBH Kids programs from the period, such as Arthur starting with season 21, the first three seasons of Pinkalicious & Peterrific and the first season of Molly of Denali.

  • This even plasters over previous WGBH logos on PBS Kids Channel prints of Peep and the Big Wide World.
  • Again, this strangely doesn't appear on Curious George, since it still used an in-credit notice of the WGBH logo until season 12.
  • This logo made its last appearance on the 25th and final season of Arthur, which was produced in 2019 (along with seasons 22-24) but did not air until 2022.
