Background

Bandai Namco Filmworks (formerly known as Sunrise Studio, Nippon Sunrise and Sunrise, the latter is currently used as a brand name) was founded in 1972 by former Mushi Production animators according to an interview with members of the studio. They later grew into one of the biggest animation studios in Japan, having worked on the Gundam franchise, Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Love Live, Armored Trooper Votoms, Space Runaway Ideon, Dirty Pair, Keroro Gunso (Sgt. Frog), Tiger & Bunny (the latter two now being owned by Bandai Namco Pictures) and many more. They've also co-produced stuff with other companies such as Toei Company (Robot Romance Trilogy (Combattler V, Voltes V, and Daimos) and Cyborg 009 (1979)), Toho (Gunhed), and Tsuburaya (The Ultraman). They have been a part of Bandai since 1993, who would later merge with Namco to form Namco Bandai Holdings in 2005. In 2022, as part of a broader reorganization of the Bandai Namco Group, Sunrise was consolidated with the home video divisions of Bandai Namco Arts and renamed itself to Bandai Namco Filmworks.

Logo (November 25, 2022-)

Visuals: On a black piece of paper, the Bandai Namco wordmark is written and drawn. Following that, the wordmark spins while multiple colored shapes come out to form the rest of the logo. After that, the speech bubble from the logo is traced before turning into red with the wordmark turning into white, thus forming the Bandai Namco Group logo. After that, the logo dashes itself to the left before revealing the company's name (Bandai Namco Filmworks) in its corporate font.

Audio: A mix of pencil drawing sound effects and futuristic sound effects.

Availability: So far, seen on That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Movie: Scarlet Bond.
