Background
The Champion Film Company was a film production company founded in 1909 by Mark M. Dintenfass. They specialized in western and reconstruction flicks of the American Revolution and Civil War throughout their lifespan. On June 8, 1912, the company merged with Independent Moving Pictures (IMP), the Powers Motion Picture Company, the Rex Motion Picture Company, the Nestor Film Company, and the New York Motion Picture Company to form the Universal Film Manufacturing Company.
