Background

E.M.M.E. Interactive SA was a French video game developer and publisher founded by Philippe Guttieres-Lasry in 1994. The company was acquired by the Avanquest Software Group in 2007.

1st Logo (1996-1997)

Visuals: Over a black background, the logo starts with 4 silver spheres emerging from a CD and moving everywhere. Then, the spheres transform into the red text "E.M.M.E." spinning around. The disc becomes flat and turns into a red line with "INTERACTIVE" wiping under it.

Variant: Some games would have a light that passes through the animation.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A dramatic chord consisting of a pitch that keeps changing higher and higher. When the script is fading in, a clunk is heard, making the chord get its highest pitch. In later games, the clunk was removed.

Availability: Seen on early games like The Sacred Mirror of Kofun and Night Cafe.

2nd Logo (1998-2007)

Visuals: On a black background, several letters are spinning in white, while moving. The letters are read as "emme" in Arial, with another "m" in a serif font going on the upper-right corner of the screen. Then, when the letters stop moving, it forms the word "emme". When they stop, a red wide script "M" fades in the middle.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The music from the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on later games by this company such as Living Oceans.
