Background

Mimimi Games was a Munich-based video game developer founded on January 13, 2011 as Mimimi Productions by Dominik Abé and Johannes Roth. In December 2017, the company rebranded to their then-current name. Six years later, in 2023, they closed down due to rising development costs.

Mimimi Productions

Logo (April 14, 2011-August 1, 2017)

Visuals: A stylized, curvy "M" with a square dot on top of the "M"'s right end is placed against a light blue-dodger blue rounded rectangle. Below the logo, there is "Mimimi Productions" in a cartoony font. All elements in the logo have a black outline with the text's stroke being thicker.

Variant: On Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, the logo has a Japanese theming with the logo drawn through watercolour paint strokes and the "M"'s resembling toriis. "Mimimi" appears first through a quick wiping effect, followed by "Productions" and then the "M". A red splat appears in place of the square dot.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: None or a custom fanfare from the game.

Audio Variants: On Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, a descending shamisen sting starts the audio sequence, followed by the paintbrush drawing and paint splatter.

Availability: The logo appears on daWindci, early versions of The Last Tinker: City of Colors, and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun.

Mimimi Games

Logo (June 16, 2020-August 17, 2023)

Visuals: "Mimimi" in a slight upper arch effect pops in, followed by a circle and a crying little brunette girl with pigtails. After slightly reaching upwards, the girl sits back down and makes her pigtails and the text bounce for a brief period.

Variants: The theme of the logo changes depending on the game, these include:

  • Desperados 3: The background is black, the circle is in a rough orange texture, and the girl is in cowboy clothing, consisting of a brown western suit, a red kerchief, and a cowboy hat with a blue hat band and sunflower.
  • Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun - Aiko's Choice: The background is a dimly lit white background, the circle is red and has a paint splatter effect to it, and the girl is wearing traditional Japanese clothing.
  • Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew: The background is a smoky green background with a light green spotlight in the centre and the girl is wearing pirate clothing from a tricorne with a red feather and skull symbol to an eyepatch, white shirt, and hook.

Technique: Flash animation.

Audio: Custom fanfares are used for each game; they typically end with a three note stinger.

Audio Variants: The type of theming giving to the fanfare, depending on the game, include:

  • Desperados 3: A Western guitar jingle with a gunshot in the beginning.
  • Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun - Aiko's Choice: A shamisen performing the jingle, starting with a descending strum and ending with a high-pitched taiko hit and a reverbed string background note.
  • Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew: a high-pitched chorus humming the jingle in a horror-themed take on the soundtrack, accompanied with rattling during the singing, and waves crashing and seagulls calling after the three notes.

Availability: It can be seen on Desperados 3, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun - Aiko's Choice, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, and later versions of The Last Tinker: City of Colors.
