Background

Ninja Theory is a British video game developer based in Cambridge, United Kingdom, founded in March 2000 as Just Add Monsters by former Sony Interactive Entertainment employees Mike Ball, Nina Kristensen and Tameem Antonaides. The studio is best known for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, as well as various other titles such as Bleeding Edge, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Heavenly Sword. The studio also developed DmC: Devil May Cry, a reboot of Capcom's Devil May Cry franchise. Ninja Theory was acquired by Microsoft and became part of Xbox Game Studios on June 10, 2018.

1st Logo (September 12, 2007-February 22, 2017)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a crudely-drawn box containing a close-up image of some sort of ninja, with a red scarf covering up half of its face, only its eyes visible. Above is the text "NINJA" in a crude brush design, and "THEORY" below in a white standard Serif font. The box emits a faint glow.

Variants:

  • On Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, the logo is on a white background, larger and without the glow.
  • On DmC: Devil May Cry, the glow is absent.

Availability: It was seen on such games as Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry.

2nd Logo (August 8, 2017-)

Visuals: Over a black background is the white text "NINJA THEORY".

Variant: On Bleeding Edge, the text is larger and more spaced out, and slowly moves back.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on the studio's games since Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.
