Background
Type-Moon is a Japanese company founded in 1998 by artist Takashi Takeuchi and writer Kinoko Nasu. The company's initial work was Kara no Kyoukai (aka Garden of Sinners), and the visual novel Tsukihime; the latter gained a strong following and resulted in lots of merchandise, a fighting game called Melty Blood featuring its characters, and an anime adaptation. The company would then transition from a doujin circle to a corporate company, and in 2004 they released Fate/stay night, spawning a much wider franchise with several adaptations and spinoffs in animanga and video game formats. They have collaborated with multiple companies including French-Bread, Studio Deen, Ufotable, ImageEpoch, Marvelous, Nitroplus and Lasengle.
