Background

XPEC Entertainment is a Taiwanese video game developer and publisher based in Taipei. It was founded in 2000.

1st Logo (June 21, 2004-2006)

Visuals: On a space background, light flashes to reveal moving pixels over something. The light then flashes, revealing the object is the text "XPEC", with the text "Entertainment Inc." below it, on a purple background.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • Sometimes, the background is black.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synth jingle.

Availability: Appeared on games of the time period. [Examples?]

2nd Logo (August 11, 2006-April 10, 2012)

Visuals: 6 yellow streaks of light appear and swirl around the near-left of the screen, with two of them briefly making an X shape, until all streaks make a second X shape with one streak missing. A flash of light forms the white letters "xpec" in a futuristic font, with the trademark symbol next to the top part of the "c", causing the light streaks to disappear. Afterwards, a white streak of light flies from the left, forming the slogan "HAVE FUN TOGETHER! .............." below. Everything takes place inside a red rectangle against a black background.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: The 2nd Sanctuary Woods Multimedia jingle.

Audio Variant: On the trailer to YES 520 Online, it has "Gliss Arpeggios 02" from Apple's iMovie.

Availability: Seen on the PS2 port of Kung Fu Panda, Spectral Force 3: Innocent Rage, and Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure (the last game to use this logo), among others.

3rd Logo (September 13-October 13, 2006)

Visuals: Over a white background, various symbols appear. Next to them, there is the text "xpec" in the same font as the previous logo with the text "ENTERTAINMENT" in spaced-out letters.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: The opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on Bounty Hounds for PSP.

4th Logo (August 18, 2010-April 9, 2012)

Visuals: On a red background with hexagons, a light streak forms a 3D version of the XPEC logo in black that flips, and then the light forms the slogan from the 2nd logo. The logo then moves while more hexagons appear.

Technique: CGI.
