Background: Alibi originally launched in November 1997 as UK Arena, one of the four channels of the UKTV network at the time. Because it broadcasted mostly drama series, its name was changed in March 2000 to UK Drama. It was then renamed UKTV Drama in March 2004, and then to Alibi in November 2008 when the UKTV network started to drop categorical names from the channels.
