Background

Bigbig Studios was a video game developer, based in Lemington Spa. Founded in 2001 by four ex-Codemasters employees, the company is best known for developing the Pursuit Force series and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge. On September 20, 2007, the studio, along with Evolution Studios, were acquired by SCE Worldwide Studios. Later in January 2012, as part of a larger reorganization of SCE's British studio structure, the division was closed.

1st Logo (November 18, 2005-September 17, 2009)

Visuals: On a black background, a blurry shot of a red light moving while leaving white lights behind, is seen. Several white lines then appear while rotating, before it reveals that the word "bigBiG", with a red dot on the second "i", is drawn and placed inside a white rounded rectangle with a black outline as the silver Japanese word "ビグビグ" and "studios" (also in silver) is seen beside "bigBiG", above and below respectively. As the camera zooms out from the logo, several red and white dots are seen before moving away as a registered trademark fades in beside "bigBiG".

Variants:

  • Pursuit Force: Fading in from the Sony Computer Entertainment America in-credit text variant, there is a surface with a brick wall behind it, with police lights illuminating the background. The logo, with the dot on the second "i" acting as a police light, moves to the left and stops quickly. The background then turns to white as the logo turns normal before it flashes to the game’s intro. Also, the Japanese text in the logo reads "ビッグビッグ".
  • MotorStorm: Arctic Edge: After the screen fades into a white background, black paint streaks appear, as the logo, with the dot on the second "i" is outlined, alongside with various shapes in pink, blue and yellow, sliding in from various directions. The camera then moves while glitching in sync with the audio. Another black paint streak appears on the bottom-right before everything moves away. Like the Pursuit Force variant, the Japanese text reads "ビッグビッグ".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Several whooshing noises, followed by a dramatic tune when the logo is revealed.

Audio Variants:

  • Pursuit Force: A police siren, which carries over from the Sony Computer Entertainment America in-credit text variant. The opening theme of the game then follows when the logo is revealed.
  • MotorStorm: Arctic Edge: The sounds of paint streaks, accompanied by a whoosh and an electro beat.

Availability: The normal logo is seen on Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice, while the variants are seen on Pursuit Force and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge.

2nd Logo (December 17, 2011)

Visuals: Over a white background, there is "bigbig" with the tittle being in orange. The logo is outlined outside and "Bigbig Studios" in a silver Helvetica font is below it.

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Little Deviants on Sony PlayStation Vita.
