Background

CHOT-DT is a television affiliate of TVA serving the city of Gatineau in Quebec, Canada that was founded in 1978.



1st ID (1978-1982)


Visuals: On a black background, a square rises onto the screen with a white trail going with it, then shining particles appear from the upper and lower area of the square to reveal the words "CHOT-TV" in white. Then the text rises and two circles slide onto the screen with a white trail following them aswell. Then the shining particles start to flash inside the circles to reveal "10 cable" and "40 canal" and finally the "CHOT-TV" text glows in blue.

Technique: Analog computer animation.

Audio: A rising long note that transitions to a 19-note happy jingle with the final note being extended as well.

2nd ID (1982-1984)


Visuals: On a 360° snowy background, there is the callsign "CHOT-TV" in white with its shadow carved out of a white and blue square, "Canal 40", "Cable 10" and "TV" are also in the box. Then that box and all of the text zooms out to reveal "Au rythme de gens de L'outaouais" in beat of the jingle.

Audio: A group of French people singing "CHOT, Au rythme de gens de L'outaouais!"
