Joy Pack Film

Background

Joy Pack Film was a Japanese film company. After the merger, Million Film Corporation became Million Film, a label that produced and distributed mainly the company's pink films. In April of 1989, the company changed its name to Humax Pictures. Currently, Humax Cinema took over all of the company's operations through a business transfer in March of 2003. The "Joy Pack" name is still used by the Joypack Group, which is led by Joypack Leisure.

Logo (October 13, 1979?-Early 1989)

Visuals: The company's logo depicts a white circle with the serif "Pack" with the "P" letter being tall than the rest, with the inside of said letter including "Joy", and "FILM" above the rest. The logo's enclosed with a circle border, with "we love movies" arched above. Underneath the rest is "JOY PACK FILM presents", with the first three words larger than "presents", which is underneath them, all on a blue background.

Variants:

The katakana translation is used instead of the latters. "presents" is also omitted.
The font for "we love movies" may vary.

Technique: Chroma-keyed fading effects.

Audio: Silent.

Availability: Mostly intact on Japanese VHS/LaserDisc releases of American movies, such as Budo, Phenomena, Creature, among others. It also appears on On The Road (オン・ザ・ロード), Evil Dead Trap, and others.
