Background

Guadeloupe 1ere was originally a television service intended to distribute ORTF material in the French territories of Guadeloupe, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. In December 31, 1982 it became independent from its FR3 counterpart and started distributing television by itself.

RFO

1st Logo (December 31, 1982-1993)

Logo: We see a spinning red propeller-like shape fly by, then a map of the Earth flips in and the territories where the television service is active light up. After that, the RFO logo flips in, and the propeller-like shape settles inside the "O", turning the inside red while the lines on the map shrink, move towards the "O" and appear on its inside. The globe then morphs into a background that's green on the bottom and blue on top, with some negative space among the RFO logo being filled accordingly. Finally, the text "RADIO-TÉLÉVISION FRANÇAISE D'OUTRE-MER" ("FRENCH OVERSEAS RADIO-TELEVISION") appears below.

Technique: All in scanimated effects.

Music/Sounds: A calm synth theme.

Availability: Extinct.
