Background

Manifesto Film Sales was the international sales division of PolyGram Filmed Entertainment that was formed in 1989. Its main output was to release the titles internationally. By 1994, it was renamed to PolyGram Film International.

Logo (1990-1994)

Visuals: Against a black background is the white word "MANIFESTO" in an Impact font zooming out. Then, two red arches fade in above and below the text, with the words reading "FILM" and "SALES" in an arch form on the top and bottom of the word.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Manifesto Film Sales titles from the era, like the 1993 VHS of London Kills Me, but usually, it got plastered by the 2001 MGM logo. It was preserved on Barton Fink.

Legacy: The logo's design became the basis for the 1995 Working Title Films and Television logos, who also produced for PolyGram.
