Background

Okura Pictures (大蔵映画), also known as OP Eiga (オーピー映画), is the largest and one of the oldest Japanese independent pink film studios. It was founded in 1961 by Shintoho's former president Mitsuru Okura. It was one of the most influential studios of the pink film genre alongside Shintoho Eiga, Kanto, Million Film and Wakamatsu Production.



1st Logo (June 13, 1962-1980s?)

Visuals: Over a backdrop of multicolored spinning shining lines (like a sunburst), there is a red and gold crown with "OKURA FILM" in yellow below. At the bottom of the screen is the name "大蔵映画" in red and in a 3D effect.

Variants: There is a black-and-white version.

Technique: Practical effects.

Audio: A majestic fanfare. Otherwise, none.

Availability: May be seen on their releases such as 沖縄怪談逆吊り幽霊 支那怪談死棺破り.

2nd Logo (1990s-2000s)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a rainbow-colored animated abstract crown with "OKURA FILM" inscribed on its base. Below is the company name in red. From behind the crown, multiple blue rays shoot out.

Technique: Appears to be cel animation

Audio: Same as before.

Availability: Seen on Eating Schoolgirls: Osaka Telephone Club

3rd Logo (1980s-2015)

Visuals: Over a white background is "OP" (the "O" is in a black square and the "P" is in a white square), with a black rectangle below containing the word "PICTURE". Underneath is the company name in Japanese.

Technique: A still graphic.

Availability: Seen on releases such as 奥様は18歳 超どきどき保健室 and Widow Apartment.

4th Logo (2015-)

Visuals: Gold specks of dust appears and accumulates as the background turns into a crimson red. The specks then form the words "OP PICTURES" in a serif white font which faintly glow, with the crown graphic from the second logo between the words. After the logo is formed, it shines with a lens flare effect.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A light tinkly chime theme.

Availability: This can be seen on their films such as The Pleasure Hotel.
