Background

RKB Mainichi Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Kyushu Broadcasting) is a broadcasting station in Fukuoka, Japan, and it is affiliated with Japan Radio Network (JRN) and the Japan News Network (JNN). It is owned by Mainichi Broadcasting System, Mainichi Shimbun and the Aso Group.

In 1950, following the enactment of the Radio Law, Mainichi Shimbun wanted to establish three radio stations (Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka). Its application in the Tokyo area was later integrated with applications from other national newspapers and Dentsu to form Radio Tokyo. In the Osaka area, it applied to establish a radio station under the name of New Japan Broadcasting, and in Fukuoka Prefecture under the name of Radio Kyushu. A license for JOFR was issued on April 21, 1951 and the company was formally established on June 29. On December 1, Radio Kyushu began its operations.

ID (1979-1993)

Visuals: On a blue background, a blocky white/blue pattern zooms in, soon stretching and spinning around. After 31 seconds, it turns back into its regular form, and the white letters "rkb" in a cursive font wipe in segment-by-segment. The pattern wipes out, and the letters soon morph into a scanimate shape. soon flipping into a rectangle made out of the said letters. The white text in Japanese soon scrolls from right to left, and the letters morph into a flower, soon morphing back into the logo.
