Background
In 1991, Universidad de Chile Televisión was rebranded in 1993 as Red de Televisión Universidad de Chile (RTU) as a plan to expand the channel. However, it wasn't successful, and along some problems at maintaining it, RTU was sold to Grupo Cisneros in 1993 and rebranded as Chilevisión.
Logo (1991-1993)
Visuals: The sequence starts on a space background, where three blocks (one in blue, and the other two in red) fly in and place themselves in a low angle on the center of the screen. The letters "RTU" appear on top of each block as they flip up at a normal angle. Finally, the text "RED DE TELEVISION UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE" in light blue rises from the bottom and stops below the blocks.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A dreamy synth theme, with some "whooshes" when the blocks fly in and an announcer saying "Transmite RTU, Red de Television Universidad de Chile, y su canal familiar." ("Transmitting RTU, the Chilean University's television channel, and its family channel.").
Audio Variant: The announcer spiel may sometimes end differently. For example: "...Y su canal del deporte." ("and its sports channel.")
