Background

In 2005, handheld developer Möbius Entertainment was renamed into Rockstar Leeds following Take-Two's purchase of the game development studio.

Logo (October 25, 2005-October 28, 2009)

Visuals: The usual Rockstar shield, colored white, while the border and the "R" shape are blue. It usually appears without the company name.

Variants: Seen on the following games for PSP:

  • On GTA: Liberty City Stories, a horde of ambulances pass and create the shield after the Rockstar North logo.
  • On GTA: Vice City Stories, the logo appears after the North shield, with the Vice City font name below. Then it gets striped down to the publisher logo.
  • On GTA: Chinatown Wars (PSP version), a train passes and changes the color of the glowing Rockstar North shield to Leeds white. Train sounds are heard.
  • On GTA: Chinatown Wars (DS version), the logo is in a leather brown briefcase with piles of money in it. The briefcase then closes, revealing the game's title logo printed on it.
  • On Beaterator, an equalizer fills the logo, which has the name below. Then it turns down.
  • A widescreen version of the GTA: Liberty City Stories and GTA: Vice City Stories variants exist for the PSP versions.

Technique: 2D CGI for all the variants.

Audio: Depends on the game:

  • GTA: Liberty City Stories: Engine sounds, followed by the sounds of an ambulance siren, and a quiet slam at the end.
  • GTA: Vice City Stories: Spray paint sounds, with the game's main theme playing in the background.
  • GTA: Chinatown Wars:
    • PSP: Train sounds.
    • DS: None.
  • Beaterator: An electro tune which turns in sync with the equalizer.

Availability: Appears together with other Rockstar subsidiaries on said games.
