Background

TeleClub was a brand name of a premium television offering in Switzerland. Founded in 1982, it was one of the longest established providers of such in Europe. At present time the service is only available in Switzerland. The service is owned by Blue Entertainment AG (formerly known as CT Cinetrade AG), a fully owned subsidiary of telecommunication company Swisscom.

1st ID (1987-1997)

Visuals: On a black background, a variety of shapes is shown, including:

  • A grey circle with its upper-right portion cut out and a yellow number "5" in it, as well as a yellow triangle flipping in in the left, a blue orb in the right, blue and yellow bars flipping in below, a red triangle above and a short orange line spinning around the circle;
  • A red circle with its upper-left portion colored in green having a green number "4" in it, a white semicircle in the left, a blue kite shape in the right, a red dot below, a blue triangular object above and a yellow curved line spinning around the circle;
  • A grey triangle with a blue number "3" in it, a blue triangle in the left, a pink wavy line spinning in the right, a yellow trapezoid below, a red dot above and a pink triangle spinning around the triangle;
  • A grey arch shape with a purple number "2" in it, blue and red triangles flipping in in the left, blue-ish rhombuses flipping in in the right and a line made out of yellow dots spinning around the arch;
  • A grey rectangle with a yellow number "1" in it, RGB curved lines on both sides, yellow dots in a stacked diagonal format on each lower corner, and an arc made out of yellow dots flipping in above.

After the last footage, the screen opens, with the camera zooming in to a staircase with blue walls and various posters on them. It soon reveals a cinema hall as the camera zooms through it, revealing a screen with a starfield on it. The red text "TELECLUB" slides down from the top while flipping in, and a globe fades in below, as the text's back part extends, leading to the map of Switzerland. The text shines.

Technique: CGI and computer animation.

Audio: A ticking sound accompanied by bells and a held-out violin note. A rapid violin tune is heard afterwards with clicks, followed by it descending in pitch. A 6-note high-pitched synth trumpet is heard afterwards.

2nd ID (1990)

Visuals: On a cloudy sky background, the blue text from before zooms out, facing the top. A blue sphere rolls across it, and the text flips in as the front part turns red and the back part extends to the sphere, which slides down later. The sphere flashes into a globe from before.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A majestic synth pad & string tune, followed by a descending whistle and ending with a 4-note woodwind tune.
