Background

Ubisoft Ivory Tower is a game development studio based in Lyon, France. Founded in 2007 by Ahmed Boukhelifa, Stéphane Beley and Emmanuel Oualid, the studio has a history working on various racing game franchises such as Need for Speed, V-Rally and Test Drive. Most members of the studio previously worked at Eden Games.

The studio is best known for producing the racing video game, The Crew, together with Ubisoft Reflections. On October 5, 2015, Ubisoft announced the studio's acquisition, alongside its subsidiary Ivory Art & Design SARL.

1st Logo (December 2, 2014)

Visuals: On a gray blueprint background, "IVORY TOWER" in its stacked form, with "IVORY" being in a sports font and "TOWER" in a computerized font draws itself in. A blurry brush then covers the first logo design, as "Ivory Tower" in a 1950's cursive font style draws itself in front of it. The scene then rips itself, as various white smudges draws in various places as a drawing of a left side of a skull wearing a helmet with the stacked text "IVORY TOWER" and two lightnings on both sides is seen embossed before said smudges fill the logo's color, allowing the logo to be fully seen. And finally, various white brushes covers the screen, as the logo, consists of "IVORY TOWER" in a sporty font with a huge cross separating both words and the byline "A UBISOFT STUDIO" (UBISOFT in its corporate font), draws itself in on a black background while zooming in slowly.

Technique: 2D CGI.

Audio: Various pencil sketches and whooshes.

Availability: The logo is seen on The Crew.

2nd Logo (June 29, 2018-)

Visuals: A yellow rectangle slides in from the bottom to reveal the Ubisoft wordmark and a huge cross, which draws in, as "IVORY TOWER" slides in from both sides of the cross.

Variants:

  • The Crew 2 had the logo superimposed.
  • On The Crew: Motorfest, the animation is quicker, the rectangle is cropped to a square and soon as the logo formation is complete, the logo moves to the left, as Ubisoft's logo animation is shown beside it.

Technique: 2D CGI.

Audio:

  • The Crew 2: The opening theme of the game.
  • The Crew: Motorfest: A click, followed by an engine noise and a quick vehicle revving sound.

Availability: The logo is seen on The Crew 2 and The Crew: Motorfest.
