Background

Authentic Entertainment was founded in 2000 by Lauren Lexton and Tom Rogan, who previously worked together as freelance reality production staffers. The company's television series cover a wide range of subjects, with such shows as Ace of Cakes, Weird Travels, Toddlers & Tiaras, All on the Line, Surprise Homecoming, Flipping Out, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Auction Kings, Off Limits, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Cheer Perfection and Is Your Dog a Genius?, airing on multiple networks. In 2008, Endemol USA announced the acquisition of a majority share in Authentic Entertainment.

1st Logo (2001-2006)

Logo: On a white background with purple snowflakes falling, the word "authentic" and a teal bar with "E N T E R T A I N M E N T" inside attached to it falls as well, and stops in the centre. Copyright info is seen on the bottom.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: None or the ending theme.

Availability: No longer current.

2nd Logo (2006-2012)

Logo: The screen quickly zooms out to show a stack of seven teal CRT TVs with static in them, and a shadow behind it all on a white background. The Authentic logo is seen above the stack.

Variant: Starting in 2008, the screen zooms out further and the byline "AN ENDEMOL COMPANY" is seen below.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A hip-hop type beat with static noise.

Availability: No longer current.

3rd Logo (2012-2020?)

Logo: The screen opens up from a fisheye view to show the stack from before (this time with the TVs in different colours and modelled in 3D) zooming out from the right, and the Authentic logo above zooming out from the left. As both settle in the centre, the TVs turn on to show static in them.

Bylines:

  • 2012-2016: "AN ENDEMOL COMPANY"
  • 2016-2020?: "part of EndemolShineGroup"

Variant: The 2016 byline version has the Authentic logo and the byline modelled in 3D.

Technique: 3D animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 2008 Endemol logo, with static noise.

Availability: Current.
