'''Audio:''' A brief brass/synth stinger, followed by a seven-note string sounder, derived from the first [[CBS Paramount Television]] logo's music, which sounds like a re-orchestration (and slight rearrangement) of that. The first note is held longer, and fourth note is accompanied by a beat, which is actually part of a timpani roll accompanying notes 1-4. A cymbal is also heard on the fourth and sixth notes; the first one plays when the timpani stops. After the sixth note, there is a long pause, ending with a seventh note, then the same brass/synth stinger in a lower tone. Composed by Gregory Smith. The following versions are commonly used:
* For the slightly shorter medium-length version, the first note is shorter, and the first instance of the brass/synth stringer is omitted. One version has the first note re-arranged to resemble the one used in the more common short version.
* The more common short version usually has the last six notes, occasionally with an additional note at the beginning, which is re-arranged. For the seven-note version, the first note may be cut in half (on some first-run shows) or be heard in full (often heard on syndicated prints of shows produced by [[CBS Productions]], CBS Paramount Television, and CBS Television Studios).
* There is also short version with a faster pace.
