Background

Lark International was an American television consortium formed by PBS stations Nebraska Educational Telecommunications, KUHT, KCTS, and WTVS; which acted sometimes as a television production company for programs aired on public television.

1st Logo (1997-2001)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a 3D blue square with a glowing eclipse/sunburst on it. The camera zooms out as the stacked text "LARK INTERNATIONAL" (set in an Eagle font, like the 1992-2004 Cartoon Network logo) moves in below with a white aura flashing around it. A blue, yellow and purple gradient background fades in behind the logo. The aura dims away, while either the text "HOUSTON PUBLIC TELEVISION", "KETC ST. LOUIS" or "KCTS SEATTLE" appears underneath, turning letter-by-letter. The logo finishes before fading out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A piano arpeggio followed by a harp chord, or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: It is known to have appeared on The American Woodshop and The American Civil Liberties Union: A History.

2nd Logo (March 24, 2001-mid/late 2000s)

Visuals: On a dark brown background, the 1993 KUHT symbol gets formed as it flies to the top and glows. The word "LARK" blurs letter by letter and zooms out quickly, in the same way as "INTERNATIONAL" and the "HoustonPBS" wordmark. The text below becomes blue while the background changes into a dawn-colored style, while the blue square shines.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A piano arpeggio followed by a harp chord.

Availability: Seen on Wit, Grit, and Robot Games and Mary Lou's Flip-Flop Shop.
