Background

This is Danny Jacobson's vanity card.

Logo (September 23, 1992-May 16, 2001)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the text:

IN FRONT
PRODUCTIONS

in a font that resembles the text seen on stadium scoreboards. Both lines blink at a fast speed.

Variants:

  • An early variant has no space, making the text read "INFRONT".
  • On the short-lived CBS sitcom Good Advice, the logo is slightly longer.
  • Conversely, the Mad About You episode "It's a Wrap" noticeably shortens the logo.
  • A variant was spotted on the 1994 prototype reel of NBC's split-screen credits (known as "NBC 2000"); During the Mad About You[1] demo, a modified version of the logo is inside of the credits. The logo is much smaller (with the background filling the entire frame) with the show's logo and "PRODUCED FOR NBC BY..." above and "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" below.

Technique: 2D computer animation. Depending on the refresh rate, this logo can look like a still logo at times.

Audio: The sound of a racing gate opening, accompanied by a bell ringing and sounds of horses running, followed by a P.A. voice that says "IN FRONT!".

Audio Variants:

  • NBC and ABC used a generic theme and voiceover.
  • On the Good Advice variant and on early episodes of Two Guys and a Girl, a slightly longer version of the horse running sounds are used.
  • On the "It's a Wrap" variant, the P.A. voice is cut as Paul describes the logos.

Availability: Seen on Mad About You. It was also seen on the sitcoms Good Advice and Two Guys and a Girl, which was known as Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place for its first two seasons.
