Background

Previously known as JPL Vidéo, this television producer was created in 1965 by Jean-Paul Ladouceur and was changed to TVA Productions in 2008.

1st Logo (November-December 1977)

Visuals: At the end credits, there are the words "Réalisée par" with a rectangle underneath containing JPL Productions inc. (all in small letters).

Technique: None; it's a still logo.

Audio: The ending theme of Passe-Partout.

Availability: Seen only on the very first episodes of Passe-Partout, on Radio-Québec.

2nd Logo (1997-2000)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a white spotlight revealing a blue cameraman character. The words "JPL PRODUCTION" settle underneath one-by-one and the cameraman salutes.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A dizzy orchestral hit, followed by accumulation effects as the letters in JPL PRODUCTIONS settle underneath one-by-one and finally a rubber-like sound as the cameraman salutes.

Availability: Seen on old shows produced by JPL Production which aired on TVA previously.

3rd Logo (2000-December 2001)

Visuals: On a blue background, a spark approaches towards the center making a flash of light, changing the background to white. Then, there is the Blue Cameraman from the previous logo with the spark writing "JPL PRODUCTION" in black in the same font as the previous logo with the byline "Membre du Groupe TVA" underneath. The cameraman salutes again.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A soft piano tune ending with three violin notes as the cameraman salutes. There is also the presence of whooshes and booming in the logo.

Availability: It was seen on early episodes of Les poupées russes.

4th Logo (January 2002-August 2007)

Visuals: On a water background, we just see the flipping words "JPL PRODUCTION" with the TVA network byline. The blue cameraman (but brighter) is seen on the bottom-right corner.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A short classic tune with one single drumbeat and choir at the end.

Availability: Seen until August 2007 on TVA network shows such as later episodes of Les poupées russes.

5th Logo (August-October 2007)

Visuals: On a blue background, there are the words "JPL PRODUCTION" revealed one-by-one. Then the logo with the blue cameraman at the front with the TVA network byline and Quebecor Media logo (which was no longer used thereafter) is seen.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A short classic tune, similar to the 4th logo.

Availability: Unknown.
