Background

This is the production company of Ken Ehrlich.

1st Logo (August 29, 1987-1988)

Visuals: Six gold copies of wide, rectangular borders, with concaved edges for the outer border and a normal rectangular bordered box for the inner border, fly out and land on the center of the screen on an indigo-medium purple background. From the left, right, and bottom sections of the screen "KEN EHRLICH PRODUCTIONS" in white and a fairly blocky font slide into the box as the border continues to reflect. Both objects have a black shadow facing the bottom right. Before the sequence fades to black, the text and border disappear first.

Technique: Analog computer animation.

Audio: A three-note horn tune with ending a three-note orchestral theme. Sometimes, the theme is longer.

Availability: The logo was seen at the end of some TV specials on CBS such as Showtime Coast to Coast and New Orleans Festival. Nowadays, this is plastered with the Paul Brownstein Production or the Multicom logo

2nd Logo (June 10, 1991-March 11, 1997)

Visuals: On a dimly lit purple wall background, there are two thin horizontal white lines over and underneath the white text "KEN EHRLICH PRODUCTIONS" with the former in a thin, tall font, and the latter in a small size and stretched format. Both objects have a shadow facing downwards.

Variant: Sometimes, there is a copyright stamp below.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: The end theme.

Availability: The logo made its debut on James Brown: Living in America and later appeared on the 1997 Blockbuster Entertainment Awards.

3rd Logo (December 2, 1997-February 11, 2007)

Visuals: There is a blue stage containing spotlights on the top and band equipment, which includes a bass guitar next to an amplifier on the left, a drum set in the center, and a tan jazz guitar on the right. Two microphone stands separate the instruments. From the top, "Ken EHRLICH", in white and with blue lateral faces, fall and lands on the ground, briefly bouncing upwards before resting on said surface. The logo creates a strong enough shake to trip over the left microphone stand. Simultaneously, "productions" in white fades in below.

Variant: There exists a stretched, widescreen variant.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Auditorium ambience starts the logo sequence. Loud crashing sound effects followed by glass breaking is heard as the logo makes contact with the stage.

Audio Variants:

  • Most of the time, the end theme or a generic theme plays over, usually from CBS. The sound effects may be intact sometimes.
  • On Come Together: A Night for John Lennon's Words and Music, the ambience is removed and the crashing sound effects are replaced with a different, mechanical stock sound with the same effect.

Availability: The logo made its earliest appearance on Spice Girls: Too Much Is Never Enough and can be seen on several specials produced by the company from the late 90's to mid-2000's until the 49th Grammy Awards. This logo was also at the end of Motown Live.

4th Logo (September 6, 2022-)

Visuals: On a cornflower blue background with a light spotlight in the center, there is a large QR code with large, garbled blocks of text in the center. The amount of blocks in said area disappear or flicker away to reveal "KEN EHRLICH PRODUCTIONS" in a stretched, stacked format.

Technique: Flash animation.

Audio: Sounds such as fast-paced, electronic beating and descending frequency changing are heard until the text is fully revealed.

Availability: The logo made its debut on Homeward Bound: A Grammy Salute to the Songs of Paul Simon.
