Background

Lucida Productions is a British television production company owned by Paul Joyce.

1st Logo (April 25, 1990)

Visuals: On a dark blue-blue gradient background is the spaced out and partially unfilled text "l u c i d a" on top of a thin underline and "productions to the underline's bottom right. Moments after the logo appears, the copyright stamp appears on the bottom of the screen.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: The closing theme of the programme.

Availability: Its only known appearance is on Motion and Emotion: The Films of Wim Wenders.

2nd Logo (January 4, 1992-2008?)

Visuals: Two white lights sweep across a dark grey background, with "lucida", in the same appearance as before. in front of them. Eventually, one of the lights stops, making a dividing line across the middle of the screen. After this, the underline from before wipes itself under "lucida," and "productions" fades in, followed by the co-producer's name and copyright notice below.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, "productions" or the underline does not appear and the copyright information is already formed.
  • Beginning in 2006, the logo was colorized blue.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None or the closing theme of the programme.
