Matchbox Pictures is an Australian film and television production company that was founded in 2008 by Tony Ayres, Penny Chapman, Helen Bowden, Michael McMahon and Helen Packhurst. The company produces scripred and unscripted award-winning shows and feature movies like Nowhere Boys and the Australian series The Real Housewives of Melbourne which is an Australian version of the most popular franchise. In 2011 American-based NBCUniversal International Studios (now Universal International Studios) acquired a majority stake in the Australian company marking it's first investment to the studio and they added it to it's international portfolio and in 2014 they fully acquired the remaining stake in the producer, taking full ownership in the Australian company. In 2018 the producer and it's owner NBCUniversal International Studios backed up a new production company "Tony Ayres Productions" which was founded by one of the founders of the company Tony Ayres.
Logo: On a black background we see the CGI words Matchbox appears with the letters in a scripted font with "A" and "B" connected together which looks like a vertical line. Then a red CGI match drops below hitting the floor then it flips and inside it has the word "PICTURES" in white until it stops clanging.

Availability: Seen on their television shows and movies that the company produced such as Nowhere Boys, Glitch, Mustang FC and Fires. The "ENTERTAINMENT" version was seen on their unscripted shows that they produced such as Formal Wars, The Real Housewives of Melbourne, The Real Housewives of Sydney and Making It Australia. It also appeared on US shows that Universal Television and Universal Content Productions produced like Camp, Young Rock, La Brea and Joe vs. Carole.
