Background

MaXaM Entertainment was a television syndication company founded in 1988 by Ed Wilson and Bob Cook through a partnership with partnership with station owner Belo Corporation. MaXam specialized in handling off-network sales for the major film studios. It signed a deal with Atlantis Communications (now Alliance Atlantis) for PSI Factor and another with RHI Entertainment (now Halcyon Studios) for a movie package. In 1996, it was acquired by Westinghouse Broadcasting and merged into Eyemark Entertainment.

Logo (1988-1995)

Visuals: On a black background, there are two stylized triangles sliding, to make a square with a shaped "X", that makes the figure looking like an "M". Below, a "M" slides to reveal another "M", and after the stacked "MAXAM ENTERTAINMENT" text; with the "A"s of the first word being smaller than the others. The figure shines after the animation ends.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A majestic seven-note horn fanfare, that ends with a cymbal crash.

Availability: Seen at the end of shows like The Extremists.
