1st Logo (23 January 1965-1970)

Visuals: Superimposed in the credits, there is the text "ITS" over a background of white swirly circles. Below it, there is the text "INDEPENDENT TELEVISION SYSTEM", with the first letters of each word in the same font.

Variant: Sometimes, the text is in a different font.

Technique: A still in-credit image.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Most programmes with the logo are wiped, although it has surfaced on The Magic Circle Club and Where the Action Is.

2nd Logo (1970-January 1980)

Visuals: Superimposed in the credits, there is a large "0", with part of it cut to include the number "10", and the word "NETWORK" below the number.

Variants:

  • Starting in 1974, the "NETWORK" text was taken out of the "0" number, and would instead appear below the logo.
  • An earlier version exists seen on Happening '71, with the text "CHANNEL" shown above the "0" number, and the names of affiliates shown on the left and right sides of the logo.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on several programmes from the era. It was retained on Blankety Blanks, The Restless Years and older episodes of Prisoner.

3rd Logo (22 January 1980-February 1981)

Visuals: Superimposed in the credits, there is the number "10" inside a TV tube with some cutouts and cuts on the rectangle. The word "NETWORK" appears in a Broadway font above the logo.

Variant:

  • Sometimes, the text "PRODUCTION" is shown below the logo.
  • Sometimes, the text "MELBOURNE" is shown below the logo with nothing on top.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on old episodes of Prisoner, which has fallen victim to plastering with the 8th and 9th logos. It was also seen on Young Talent Time.

4th Logo (4 February 1981-February 1983)

Visuals: Superimposed in the end credits, there is the text "Network 10" in a plain serif font.

Variant: Sometimes, the logo is coloured yellow.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on old episodes of Prisoner and Holiday Island from the era.

5th Logo (1 February 1983-June 1984)

Visuals: Superimposed in the credits, there is the text "NETWORK 10" shown in a Palatino font. The word "AUSTRALIA" in a sans-serif font with two dots is shown below the word "NETWORK".

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Kept intact on Carson's Law, but it was also seen on episodes of Prisoner from the era.

6th Logo (June 1984-January 1988)

Visuals: Superimposed in the credits, there is the text "NETWORK TEN AUSTRALIA" in the same futuristic italicised tube font from the network logo in the centre of the screen.

Variants:

  • The logo sometimes appears in different colours.
  • Sometimes, the regular Ten logo is used with the name of the region below the logo.

Audio: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on episodes of Neighbours since it joined Network Ten in 1986, as well as old episodes of Prisoner, The Henderson Kids and It's a Knockout.

7th Logo (January 1988-July 1989)

Visuals: Superimposed in the credits, there is a 2D print version of the 1988 Network Ten logo, albeit with the "X" parts coloured cut out and also in white. Below it, there is the text "NETWORK TEN AUSTRALIA" in a Futura font.

Variants:

  • On World Expo '88, the logo is metallic.
  • On some episodes of Richmond Hill, the symbol does not appear due to an error.

Availability: It was seen on the short-lived Australian soap opera Richmond Hill, early episodes of Double Dare, and episodes of Neighbours from the era.

8th Logo (July 1989-January 1991)


Visuals: On a black background, there is an orange rectangle with a "10" in the left half, and a map of Australia with some gold lines behind it on the right.

Variant:

  • Sometimes, the logo is superimposed over the credits.
  • From 1989-1990, "TV AUSTRALIA" in a wide serif font is located above the logo.

Audio: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on shows of the era, most notably Double Dare and Neighbours, as well as early episodes of Let the Blood Run Free.

9th Logo (January 1991-July 1995)


Visuals: On a black background, a cloudy blue circle with "ten" in a futuristic font (named "Microgramma D OT") and a faded border spins from the left side of the logo. The logo shines and clouds move towards the logo.

Variants:

  • On Video Hits, the logo flips in.
  • In the logo's first year, the text "the entertainment network" flips in below the logo.

Availability: Seen on Network Ten shows from the era, such as episodes of Neighbours, Jeopardy! and later episodes of Double Dare.

10th Logo (17 July 1995-1996)


Visuals: Over a black background is the Network Ten logo (with a silver "ten" this time) turning upwards with three silver rings rotating around it (like the atomic symbol), before merging into one and forming the logo's border.

Variant: A still in-credit version of the logo exists.

Technique: Simple 2D CGI.

Audio: The ending theme.

Availability: This logo was used specifically on Cheez TV in its early years. Was also seen on Neighbours from the era.

11th Logo (1996-October 1999)


Visuals: On a black background, a CGI version of the Network Ten logo appears from the right of the screen before rotating and panning out to the centre, stopping there. "Network Ten" and "Australia" fade in below.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the preceding credits appear as the Network Ten logo comes in before fading to black.
  • On some shows, like Tales of the South Seas, a copyright appears below the logo.
  • Sometimes, the logo is still.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A drumbeat and a 3-note keyboard theme (based on Channel 10's "Give Me Ten" on-air branding from 1995-1996). Sometimes, the end theme plays over it.

Availability: Seen on Network Ten shows during this period, such as episodes of Neighbours from the era, as well as Tales of the South Seas.

12th Logo (1999)


Visuals: Over a black background, there is the Network Ten logo rotating. "NETWORK TEN AUSTRALIA" zooms in below the logo and the URL fades in below it.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A soft guitar theme or the end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Network Ten shows from the period.

13th Logo (January-December 2000)


Visuals: Over a water background, there are several blue streaks dashing around to form the top right quarter of the Network Ten logo (with the rest being off-screen), while the URL "www.ten.com.au" flashes in a couple of times before disappearing and wiping in from the right.

Trivia: This was also used as a station ID throughout the time period. It was designed by Attik.

Variants:

  • There is a secondary version where the bottom right quarter of the logo is shown instead.
  • There is another version that is the same as the standard one, except the background is aqua with bubbles constantly moving through it, and the logo is formed by a trail of sparks.
  • More variations of this logo exist, mainly being used only as station IDs.

Technique: 3D computer-generated animation.

Audio: A bubbling sound, a cartoonish whoosh and twinkle the streaks make, followed by a 4-note keyboard and finishes with a synthesised female voice echoing "Ten".

Audio Variant: In the secondary version, it uses a shrill high pitched synthesiser, bubble sounds that are much louder than the original, and a quiet whoosh when the logo appears.

Availability: Seen on shows during this era.

14th Logo (1 January 2001-2002)


Visuals: On an out-of-focus blue background, many streaks dart around to form the Network Ten logo on the left of screen. The URL www.ten.com.au fades in to the right of the logo.

Variant: A widescreen variant also exists.

Technique: Computer-generated animation.

Audio: A calm techno ditty with a female voice whispering "Ten".

Availability: Seen on Network Ten shows produced in this period.

Legacy: The jingle introduced in this logo would go on to be used for 16 years, becoming a hallmark of the network in the process.

15th Logo (2002-2006)
