Background

On May 21, 1993, Ronald O. Perelman, owner of New World Communications, acquired 50% of Genesis Entertainment from Gary Gannaway's Gannaway Enterprises Incorporated, and the remaining stock in 1994, reincorporating it to New World/Genesis Distribution. On January 22, 1997, News Corporation acquired New World Communications and folded New World/Genesis into 20th Television. The Genesis name and "G" logo from 1990 now belong to Genesis International, a syndication company run by former Genesis Entertainment CEO Wayne Lepoff.

Variants:

Occasionally, only the "explosion" is shown.
A variant exists, which was seen on Access Hollywood episodes of the era; on a background filled with spotlights, the still logo is placed to the left with the KNBC logo on the right. A copyright stamp can also be seen below the two logos.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A synthesized sounder that ends with a series of Caribbean-style drumbeats.

Availability: This logo was last seen on Tales from the Crypt on the now-defunct Chiller channel, like the 2nd Genesis Entertainment logo.

It was also seen on Access Hollywood and episodes of Real Stories of the Highway Patrol from the timeframe, as well as the short-lived series Emergency Call.
Later episodes of the Marvel Action Universe shows (Iron Man, Fantastic Four and Biker Mice from Mars) also had this, but have since been plastered by either the regular 1995 New World Entertainment logo, the 1996 Saban logo, or the 2006 Marvel Animation logo.
