Background
Ocnus Productions was the production company of Canadian comedian/politician Greg Lawrence. It is presumed the company went defunct in 2009, as the company hasn't produced anything since the release of How I Make Love to My Wife.
1st Logo (October 31-December 1998)
Visuals: On a dark cyan background, there is a crudely drawn brown CRT TV which displays static. In the static, there is the text "OCNUS productions".
Variant: On Season 1 of Kevin Spencer, the logo is in split-screen.
Technique: A painting filmed by a camera.
Audio: The ending theme of the show.
Availability: First appeared on the Kevin Spencer shorts when aired on CTV, and also appeared on the first season of said show.
2nd Logo (January 17, 1999-January 31, 2001)
Visuals: On a shining black background, there is the word "OCNUS". Then, "productions" wipes and slides to the left, and the URL to the now defunct Kevin Spencer website is seen below the logo. The logo stays like this for a few seconds until it fades out.
Variant: On Seasons 2 and 3 of Butch Patterson: Private Dick, the Kevin Spencer website URL is absent.
Technique: CGI for the shining black background, Simple animation for the text.
Audio: Either the ending theme of the show, a random quote from a episode of Kevin Spencer, or none.
Audio Variant: On the Kevin Spencer episode "The Tomb", the sound of Vernon farting plays over the final guitar riff of the closing theme.
Availability: Seen on Season 2 of Kevin Spencer and Seasons 2 and 3 of Butch Patterson: Private Dick.
3rd Logo (February 27-May 22, 1999)
Visuals: On a black background, there is a image of a baby (possibly Greg Lawrence himself) with a glow effect and the text "OCNUS PRODUCTIONS" on top of him.
Technique: A still, computerized graphic.
Audio: The ending theme of the show, along with a baby giggling sound effect.
Availability: Only seen on Season 1 of Butch Patterson: Private Dick.
4th Logo (October 15, 2000-December 4, 2005)
Visuals: On a black background, there is a filming effect, which then the new Ocnus logo (a big circle with 2 circles, one black, one red next to a white box with "CNUS"), with a blue border that has "productions" fades in. The URL to the now defunct Kevin Spencer website is seen below the logo.
Variants:
- On Season 4-6 of Kevin Spencer, the entire animation of the logo was cut out, leaving only with the last bit of the logo. The URL is also in a different font which changes throughout the season.
- On Season 7 of Kevin Spencer, the logo is in a TV on a rapid moving purple background (much like the 1st logo).
- On Season 8 of Kevin Spencer, the logo is superimposed into the credits.
Technique: Fading effects.
Audio: Same as the 2nd logo.
Availability: Seen on Seasons 3-8 of Kevin Spencer.
